Third Annual Albany Tea Festival Arrives on Friday, June 2nd

Tea is hot—even when it’s iced. So, if you’re a tea lover or just tea curious, join us for the Third Annual Albany Tea Festival, Friday, June 2, 2017 from 5:30 to 9:00pm. Overit Media, 435 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, will once again host the event which will feature specialty vendors, tea talks, charity raffles and a Chinese tea ceremony that attendees can experience. The Hungry Traveler food truck will be there too, in case you’re hungry, but save some room for tea, sweets and kombucha samplings.

After browsing the vendors, you can: learn about what’s trending in the world of tea, discover the medicinal properties of ginseng and mushrooms, go on a tea journey and end your evening with a play about the history of tea!

Tea Festival co-founder, Matt Zacharewicz, says, “With so many teas to choose from, there’s bound to be something for everyone and every taste. This festival brings together tea professionals and tea lovers for a truly unique evening.”

Admission is free. Attendees can sign up beginning at 5:30 to attend a Chinese Tea Ceremony.

Liz LaPorte became a member of the Co-op in 2013, around the time her horizons opened to tea and the power of plants. She began an independent course on the 'Vitality of Tea in this Region' at SUNY Cobleskill, and started the Albany Tea Festival with the owners of Short & Stout Tea Co. and the owners of Overit Media in 2015. This past year has included firsts for Liz: home ownership and motherhood. She’s looking forward to tea festivals to come, as she continues to grow her passion for and her career in plants.
