What’s Happening At the Co-op?

On Saturday, October 21, Honest Weight will hold its second annual Homegrown Happening and will also celebrate the opening of a new art exhibit entitled “Harvest/Gathering.” Join the many aspects of our diverse community!

The Harvest/Gathering exhibit, curated by the Honest Arts Committee, will feature artwork from talented member-owners, shareholders, and staff, and will display a range of styles, media, and interpretation, from black and white drawings to richly-toned paintings and photography. The Homegrown Happening will be held on Saturday, October 21, from 12 noon to 4 PM. That same day, there will be an opening day reception for the Harvest/Gathering art exhibit, from 5 to 7 PM. All events will be held at the Honest Weight Food Co-op on Watervliet Avenue in Albany.

The Honest Arts Committee was formed in early 2017, and aspires to engage imagination, stimulate conversation, and strengthen connections in the store and the community by coordinating, promoting and encouraging arts in the Co-op. In just eight months, this congenial, dedicated, and energetic committee has worked hard to bring vibrancy to the store’s hallway adjacent to the community room and to the general store interior. Gathering, gleaning, and glorying in the season comprise our committee’s cooperative goal—and the Harvest/Gathering exhibit theme.

Please join us Saturday, October 21, for all the season’s events at Honest Weight. Be sure to visit the hallway gallery, view our Harvest/Gathering show, and meet the artists at our 5 PM reception!
